I began my professional musical journey while still in high school, gigging for money on the east coast as a bass player in bars, clubs and for various events. At 18, I attended Manhattan School of Music in NYC and quickly became submersed in both the New York and New Jersey music scenes in multiple styles (R&B, Hip Hop, Funk, Rock, Jazz, Country, Fusion, Electronic, Metal & more.). During this time, I made my living as a full-time bassist, touring (domestic & international) and recorded with many artists and on many sessions.
After years of non-stop work on bass, I started learning the ins and outs of music production, recording, mixing and mastering. I produced my first album and began getting work in the city producing, mixing and mastering audio for other artists. Around 2002, after writing and producing several albums, I entered the world of music licensing for TV and film. This led me to Los Angeles, where I learned all the ins and outs of licensing, music publishing, contracts, networking, industry politics and more. I also became involved in TV/film scoring & composing in both LA and NYC with numerous credits. In this period, I split my time playing multiple instruments on my productions, while still touring and recording as a bassist.
In 2012, using my industry knowledge and musical connections, I launched my own e-learning platform www.MyMusicMasterclass.com in order to help serious musicians navigate the professional music scene. The website currently has over 700 instructional videos from over 200 well-known, world-class musicians. The artist roster is vast and includes many A-list instrumentalists, composers, producers & more.
By 2014, I began a side career as a music consultant and industry speaker, helping budding musicians navigate the professional music industry so that they could succeed.
Currently, I live in Westchester County, NY with my wife and child. Aside from running my website and partaking in various musical excursions, I offer a variety of lessons and services in the NY area and beyond (if virtual). If you or your child would like to begin or advance in your musical journey, please feel free to reach out.
